Really?

Ok....so I know I haven't been keeping this blog up, but I'm gonna try and get better! This is gonna kinda be a rant/crystal's view blog post, so if your offended I warned you ahead of time.
I've been watching tv and reading news articles lately and they all seem to have to do w/ gay rights and how the government is trying to control them. Don't ask don't tell,gay marriage,gay adoption,etc. WHY THE FUCK does the government care if anyone is gay or straight????
Do they care that 16 year old Mitsy from Louisiana is having twins w/ John her 20 year old deadbeat boyfriend? HELL NO! That's completely ok....yet a couple that has been committed to each other for over a decade can't get married or has to bend over backwards to adopt a child b/c it's "morally wrong". FUCK that.
Sally could go to war for her country, be the best at her job, and put her life on the line, but God forbid she tells someone she is a lesbian. She is kicked out w/out a second thought. FUCK that.
Eric's partner could be in the hospital for a heart attack, yet he can't go into ICU and see him because he isn't "family". Yet, Jeff is allowed to go see his wife who he beat to a pulp because he is "family". FUCK that.
What is wrong with you America???? Where did you lose your way,where did you get turned around? I thought this country was started so that we could escape being judged and be FREE to live how we wanted. What changed?
I don't feel free...I wake up daily with a heavy heart b/c of things like this. Day in and day out you build us up, only to tear us down again. I can only imagine how much heartache these issues cause the actual GLBT community.
I feel like the government spends so much of their time discussing these issues and making stupid laws, that they forget we are all just people trying to live happy good lives and trying to experience all that life and love have to offer.
I hope that one day we will truly be "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL".

Five Favorite Movies--I'm posting this now, cause I know I wont remember to do it Friday:)

1) Dirty Dancing

This is my all time favorite movie!!! I literally could watch it over and over and never get tired of it!!! Everything about it makes me so so happy!!! I even saw it in concert when I was young! THE BEST EVER!

2) Can't Buy Me Love

I think I love this movie for one reason and one reason alone...I want to be Cindy Mancini!!! What little girl didn't want to be her? I loved how popular she was, her clothes, her hair, the car she drove! I loved it all..and I guess I still do! Its a cheesy 80's movie done right!!!

3) The Sound Of Music

You can not be a girl and not love this movie! The great story line, the singing, the dancing!!! Its got it all:) 

4) Elvis and Me

Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with Elvis! My mom is a huge fan so I grew up watching all of his movie's and listening to his music.  I went to Graceland about 5 years ago and my obsession got even stronger. He isn't in this movie, but its about his life with Priscilla. It is based on her account of the relationship and it is a great great movie. I have been searching everywhere to find it on DVD and can't. So I have to settle with the tape I have that my mom copied off of the tv :) 

5) Sex and the City

Most awkward moment with your S.O.

This is going to be difficult... there is not much that me or aaron get embarrassed about.  We are pretty open about everything with each other.  I guess you would have to go back to the very beginning of us when we first me.  I had a crush on aaron from the night I met him.  He was new to the tour and I was so excited there was a hot new guy out with us!!! I tried to get up the nerve to talk to him, but i didn't know what to say.  So one night on a long bus ride out west i went up to a guy he worked with and asked him if aaron was single.  I knew as soon as i walked away he would go up to aaron and tell him I had asked about him! Well that worked and that next night we hung out by the buses and talked.  Long story short, we ended up hanging out every night after the show talking and flirting and one night we decided that I should ride his bus back to nashville so we could hang out more.  We ended up making out in the back lounge all night long and finally passed out. When I woke up that morning I didn't know what to do...do i wake him up and say bye or do I just leave...well I just left!!  HA! So i guess that was our most awkward moment, for the split second where I bailed  after our makeout session! He actually called me that morning, right after I got home and asked me out that night for our first official date and we have been together ever since! So maybe it wasn't that awkward to him!!! ;)

I would have to say romance, although still to this day i cover my eyes during love scenes so not exactly sure how I would do IN the love scene!!!

2. Do you recycle?

Yes...I try to be pretty hard core about it...even on the road I always try to make sure catering has a recycle bin.

3. Have you ever been to a strip club?

Yes..quite a few!

Most people call me Peppers or Crittle...

I can't stand for men who don't know me calling me honey or babydoll...i am not your honey nor your babydoll...arggg.

Friday Fives...5 Things You Don't Know About Me

Here is a Friday Fives from a while ago...

1) I always rub my feet together when I'm laying down to sleep or laying down watching tv. It gets on aaron's nerves so much but I can't help it. Most of the time I don't even realize I'm doing it until he points it out. I've been doing since I was a kid and I don't think I'll ever be able to stop!

2) My favorite number is 5 and I have an obsession with making everything come back to that number in some way. I do it with license plates, dates, letters, events...you get the idea. Its a strange OCD thing I have that I can't shake!

3) I hate lemon or lime pulp in my drink. Well actually anything that can get sucked up my straw. I can't drink mojitos because of this. It totally freaks me out for some reason. I love the flavor of those things in my drink, but if anything other than the flavor gets in my drink I can't stand it. ewwww.....

4) I've become obsessed with weighing myself. Since I've started loosing weight I can't stop getting on the scale. Its become like a game! I used to hate getting on the scale and refused to even own one. Now I freak out when I'm on the road and there isn't one to use. I assume one day this will go away, but for now its in full force!

5) I sleep on Aaron's side of the bed when he is out of town. I think I do this cause it makes me feel safe and secure. I have no problem sleeping on my side when he is home, but I can't do it while he is gone.

The Little Things We Do

1.  One song that always takes me back to my youth is Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice! I was absolutely obsessed with that tape when it came out. I played it in my tape player so much it I actually broke the tape! I begged my mama for a new one, but by the time she got around to actually saying yes, I was already over it!! Still every time I hear it though it brings me back to 3rd grade!

2.  My first concert ever was    The Beach Boys .

3.  If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there:  Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, N'sync, Christiana Aguilera, Nelly, Jay Z, Rhianna, Tom Petty, Queen, Journey, Hanson, Garth Brooks, Reba, Aerosmith, Ne-Yo, Jann Arden, Hottie and the Blowsfish, Elvis Presley(i know he is dead, but it says my dream festival!!), Kings of Leon, Madonna, New Kids on the Block, Matchbox Twenty, Snoop Dog, Timbaland, and maybe i'll throw in a little soul decision for flavor!!! :)

4.  The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is      112 "Anywhere"   .

5.  The best concert I've ever been to was   Mine is a 3 way tie between all my Justin Timberlake, N'Sync, and Britney Spears shows! I am probably at my all time happiest when I'm acting like a teeny bopper in pure pop heaven!! ;)I don't think I'll ever grow out of it!! 

6.  A memorable musical moment for me was   there are so many for me I can't even name one...I guess I'll go with music in itself.  It is my life and my job. I live music and without it I don't know where I would be. Music makes me! 

7.  The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is    It would probably be a tie between "Rude Boy" by rhianna and "Imma Be" by the black eyed peas!

What is one thing your S.O. does that drives you crazy?

This is a tough one, cause I'm sure I could think of tons of little things he does that drives me crazy!! ha!  I guess the biggest one is never being completely blown away by things. Wether is food, a movie, a story, clothes, a hotel... anything.  We could be at a 5 star restaurant where the head chef is personally making his steak and its out of this world and this would be how our conversation would go.

me: "so how is your food baby?"

aaron: "uhhh...it's alright"

me: "seriously, I think it taste great"

aaron: "its not bad"

me: "are you ever completely satisfied?"

aaron:"ehh"

We have probably had a conversation like that a million times since we started dating.  I don't know what I'll do when I ask him that and he actually loves it! I won't know how to act! But until that day I guess I'll have to settle for "ehh"!!! :)

Ok...So i've been bad at blogging lately. I seem to go through periods when I'm on top of it, and then periods when I don't bother with it at all.  Today is a day I'm on top of it! So I'm going to go back a couple weeks and answer Stephanie's Married Mondays (the single addition!!).

 Your first vacation with your S.O. or for the singles, your first with a S.O. ever.

Me and Aaron's first vacation(mini) together was actually the day after our first official date.  Aaron decided that morning that we should drive to Atlanta and go to a Braves baseball game! I thought it was so romantic and spontanious! On the drive down we decided to be silly and count all the "see rock city" and "fall creek falls" signs! It was so funny and sweet at the same time! I can't remember the exact number, but I think it was something like 87! We hadn't expected to go out of town, so we literally just had what we were wearing which made me feel like we were living on the edge!! ;) We had a great time at the game and an even greater time at the hotel ;)  We try to go to several baseball games a year now, but this one holds a special place in my heart cause it was our first trip and game together!!! :) 

Friday Fives...5 Favorite Restaurants

1) The Palm

This is my favorite restaurant. Aaron turned me on to it when we first started dating and I fell in love. We try to go to as many as possible when we are in other cities, but the one in Nashville is great! I swear I could eat a filet every day if I was able to and this place has the best! 

2) Calypso Cafe

I could literally eat here everyday and never get bored or tired of the food.  Everything they have there is amazing! My favorite is the black bean salad(with chicken or beef).  They use this spice concoction to season both their chicken and beef and it is to die for. If only they would sell the recipe!! ;)

3) Fiesta Mexicana

This is my favorite mexican restaurant in Nashville.  I've been going there for who knows how long! They have good food, great drinks, and an amazing patio! I've had many a wonderful night start here and it will forever be one of my favs!! 

4) J Alexander's 

If you want to be guaranteed a really good meal, no matter time or day,  then go to J Alexander's!  Everything I have ever gotten there has been great! Their rattlesnake pasta is one of my absolute favorites! It has just the right amount of spice and the mix of that with the peppers if to die for! The service is always great, wether your in and out for a quick bite or there for a relaxing dinner. 

5) Pei Wei

A quick yet great asian meal for under 10 bucks!! What more could you ask for?? Being owned by the same company as PF Chang's, you know the quality of the food is always going to be great! You just can't go wrong with this place!! 

What was I thinking?!!?

So I have been looking at pictures of me from this past winter and all I've got to say is....What Was I Thinking???? I looked like a different person. I apparently became on of those people who sees one image in the mirror and everybody else sees a completly different image(and a not so good one mind you). I'm litterally blown away at how I looked. Friends, I love you all for loving me no matter what, but really???!!!??? Crystal Marie should never go dark with her hair again, or long for that matter. So please, when I get that urge again to change it up, stop me and remind me that I said Hell No!! Also, when you see me gain a million pounds please tell me to get my fat ass to the gym and figure it out!!! I have beyond georgous best friends and I cannot drag you wonderful girls down!!! ;)
Now, with that being said and out of the way, I am starting to fall in love with the new Crystal that i am becoming in 2010! I feel great both mentally and physically! I actually feel like a...dare I say....grown up! ;) Though there have been a few bumps along the road, 2010 is the Year of Crystal and being that it's only April I can only imagine what is in store for me the rest of this amazing year!!!! :)

Top Two Tuesday: Two things you can't live without

My friends Beth and Stephanie did this post today and I thought it was cute.  Head over to The Undomestic Momma to participate.

1. I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and agree with the other two girls....I CAN NOT live without my iPhone! I have no idea what I did before there was an iPhone.  I get tons of emails for work, and I never miss one thanks to my phone! I also need to know everything exactly when it happens and my trusty iPhone makes sure that happens!!!

2. I also CAN NOT live with out....Perez Hilton!! I am a celebrity gossip fanatic and without him, getting my daily juice would be a little harder! I consider gossip to be my hobby and I take it very seriously!! If its gossip related and there is a debate, hands down I'm going to win...so don't even bother!! ;) I know every useless fact about every useless celeb there is! It's an art only few of us can master!!! :)

So Stephanie started a theme called Married Mondays! Obviously I'm not married nor do I plan to be, but she says we can do it if we are single so here I go!!! Todays theme is who "tooted" first! ha! I would love to have a great story to tell you,but in all honesty I have no idea who did it first, although if I had to guess I would say me!! I'm not a Jessica Simpson when it comes to those type of things, but I'm also not a prude! We usually trade off on the inappropriate things! Aaron was definitely the first one to pee with the door open! I was probably the first one to burp, cause i love to burp!! Luckily we can laugh at all these things and wait till the next silly inappropriate thing happens!! :)

This weeks Fridays Five is 5 Things that are on my Bucket List!
I've just started figuring out this blog thing, so I know its not Friday but I'm gonna do this anyway!!

1. Get out of debt!!! When I finally get done paying for that pair of jeans from 2004(that no longer fit), that shot of tequila from st. patty's day 2005(i can't stand tequila), and that last min trip to NYC in 2006(even though it was hella fun!) I will never ever again use credit cards.  They are the devil, and I have spent the last 9 years in CC hell.  I can see the light of the tunnel finally and expect a huge celebration when I actually get there!

2.  Move to Chicago! Chicago is my favorite city and one day I am going to call it home! I love the energy,the connivence, the beauty,the culture, and the people! It has Crystal written all over it!!

3.  Travel!!! I know I do that for a living, but I mean travel for pleasure. I've never been outside of the US and Canada and there are so many places I wanna go! Australia, Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Italy...to name a few!

4. Learn to really cook! I have gotten better this past year, but I would love to just think stuff up and be able to cook it and it taste good! Right now I'm a recipe girl! 

5. To one day be able to take care of my mama! I would love more than anything in life to be able to support my mama so she doesn't have to work or worry about a thing! She is the sweetest person in the world and she always puts everybody else and their needs before her's. One day it will come back to her ten fold!! :)

2. What part of your body do you neglect the most?

    I think i neglect my eyes the most...I'm so bad about changing and taking out my contacts. I have been trying to get better and at least change them once a month. That may sound horrible, but its really good for me!

3. Beach house or Lake house?

     Beach house...even though i'm like steph and hate the ocean! A beach house has to have a pool right!!! ;)

4. Mac or PC?

    MAC MAC MAC!!! I don't know how I went 23 years without one! They are the best! I have to use a PC for work and it makes me appreciate my MAC even more!

5. Did you wear braces?

    Yes...and I absolutely loved them!! I didn't get mine till 9th grade and had to wear them till halfway through my junior year(i got them off the day of my first Britney Spears show!!!).  

6. If you could be one person for a day..living or deceased..who would you be?

    Britney Spears...she is my favorite of all time!!! If i was her for one day the first thing i would do would be to slap the shit out of her father!! He may have gotten her to tour again which i'm thankful for, but he took away any personality she had. At least crazy Britney showed emotion and could do things on her own!!

7. How many times have you moved in your life?

   At least 15, maybe a few more.

8. Would you rather cook or clean?

    Cook!!!!

I hate 21 year old bitches. I feel like I have a right to, cause I'm sure when I was 21 girls hated me. I hate the fact that they are 115 lbs, have no real commitments, and guys drool over them. They are these hot girls with no strings that parade around looking for guys to pay attention to them. No matter how old we get, they stay the same fucking age,They play the same fucking games,And they attract our fucking men. Screw 21 year olds!

On the road again

Back on the bus again, headed east for the second weekend of Tim shows. Last weekend was long and difficult. It's always a challenge the first few shows of a new tour. Trying to get in a routine as well as figuring out everyone else's busy schedule. But hopefully the long 18 hour days are behind me now!!!! The Lady's are doing great! Every night the seats have been filled for them(usually u have straglers that only come to see the headliner). That says a lot!!! A full arena makes for a very happy crystal:) I truly love my job and I'm so thankful that I get the opportunity to do it with such an amazing group of people!!!

Oh goodness...

So I just finished watching Julie & Julia... What an amazing movie!!!! I love true stories that are fun and inspiring! But I think I'm in trouble now. It is making me even more obsessed with learning how to bake and cook! Ha!!
Having a month off with tons of time on my hands, what else am I supposed to do?!? The only problem I have is a boyfriend that has a very limited number of foods he likes. Oh well, maybe that will make me better!!
I made homemade pizza crust tonight! Two dinners in three nights! I'm on a roll:) Aaron is loving it!
What a great way to spend a cold Friday night...movie, pizza,and a snuggle on the couch!

Suzy Homemaker!

  So in the past year, I have gotten really interested in baking and cooking.  It started out slow(I would just help Aaron with dinner every now and then) and now its a full blown obsession!
  Yesterday I used my brand new KitchenAid stand mixer for the first time to make homemade mint chocolate chip cookies! And let me tell you..they are AMAZING!!!! :) Aaron ate at least 7 last night alone!!
  As if that wasn't enough for one day, I also made dinner...by myself!! Kung Pao Chicken was the dish of choice and it turned out very good as well! Not very difficult, but a start!
 I'm so ready to expand my knowledge of cooking and baking in 2010! I'm going to go from a sous chef to a head chef in no time!! Its the Year of Crystal so watch out!! :)

Day One

My first blog entry!! One new years resolution down!! :) now, what to write about..... The burn party was a blast last night! My head is still hurting;) Trying to get motivated to workout! Running while my head is pounding just really doesn't sound that fun. But its 2010 so that means workout workout workout!!!
